SGPC Anti-Bribery Management System – ISO 37001:2025

ISO 37001 Certification

“Compliance with the regulatory requirements of an Anti-Bribery Management System in line with the ISO 37001 standard brings countless benefits to organisations.”

1

Abstract

Corruption remains one of the most serious threats to trust, reputation and sustainable business. The ISO 37001 standard provides organisations worldwide with a structured, internationally recognised framework for preventing, detecting and responding to corruption risks.

The ISO 37001:2025-compliant Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) helps stakeholders understand the risks associated with commercial relationships with business partners and how these can be applied across different processes, sectors and organisational levels. Whether in the public, private or non-profit sector, this standard is a flexible and powerful tool for strengthening ethical practices and compliance programmes.

Tender processes include ISO 37001:2025 certification among the factors that earn bonus points, precisely because it offers guarantees of transparency, compliance and legality in tender processes and the resulting commercial relationships.

2

Method

ISO 37001 is a standard dedicated to the establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement of an anti-bribery management system. This standard provides requirements and guidelines for establishing systems designed to help organisations prevent, detect and respond to corruption, as well as comply with anti-corruption laws and voluntary commitments applicable to their activities. It covers various forms of corruption (direct and indirect) in the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Corruption is a widespread problem that undermines social, economic and political structures, leading to injustice, distorted/unfair competition and increased operating costs, as well as other serious implications. The ISO 37001 standard is crucial as it provides organisations with a systematic approach to combating corruption. This approach concerns not only legal compliance but also the promotion of a culture of integrity, transparency and trust within organisations. By implementing an anti-bribery management system, organisations can mitigate the risks and damage associated with corruption, enhance their reputation and ensure stable and fair market operations.

3

Advantages

It enables better control over corruption risks (both active and passive) arising from the Organisation’s activities, ensuring the effectiveness and improvement of the anti-corruption system and its constituent measures through the monitoring of objectives and performance, and the periodic review of the System. This aspect has also been highlighted by ANAC within the National Anti-Corruption Plan,

It facilitates the dissemination, sharing and integration of anti-corruption systems into the Organisation’s processes.

It represents a suitable and internationally recognised benchmark for the Organisation’s Model 231, which is designed to prevent corruption offences and can therefore facilitate proof of the Model’s existence and effectiveness.

To improve reporting and the communication of information regarding the Organisation’s commitment to the fight against corruption to all stakeholders (citizens, users, customers, employees, partners and shareholders, suppliers, institutions, public authorities, competitors) in a manner consistent with the principles of social responsibility.

It constitutes evidence of the company’s system’s compliance with the requirements and criteria regarding legality and the control of corruption risks set out in the new Public Procurement Code (Legislative Decree 36/2023).
